This body of work focusses on foreign domestic workers in Hong Kong, concentrating on the idea of self-representation through the photographic image.

Our aim is to give over the reins of representation to those who are misrepresented in Hong Kong. By using the method of the self-assisted portrait, this then creates an opportunity for those women to represent themselves truthfully, honestly and by their own hand. We hope that this may help to address human rights issues and the unfortunate stigmatisation of foreign domestic workers.

This book was funded and supported by Uncivlian and 75% of the profits made from each book will be donated to Enrich Hong Kong - A charity that promotes the economic empowerment of migrant domestic workers.
