THE PALLET GARDEN

Here is a custom made pallet growth station, part of our urban garden project. As an experiment, we housed a traveler Johan from France on project residency, to co-operate with our members, Michael and Ruwan in creating installations that attempt to address the deficiencies borne of urban environments or rural homes.

It was a pleasant day, dumpster diving in the fishing town of Sai Kung. And with disposable delivery pallets, CRT computer monitor frame, bent bicycle from the bankrupt Gobeebike, old balloon bump, among other discarded bits scattered around; at least 90% of materials used for building this unit are up-cycled.

The planting unit is constructed vertically to accommodate Hong Kong's lack of usable space. artwork is made on it to ease the monotony of pallet furniture, and a contraption built above to express as a piece of functional art -allowing for sunlight supplement, nutrient delivery, and fun exercise!

Life in major cities often distracts us from healthy biological necessities. clean air, greenery, rich vegetables, full spectrum for visual gratification, small manual activities that help us reconnect.

Given right conditions nature itself had found its way into all corners and crevices, and cities where the human animal thrives can be where green nature belongs. A little awareness of the space we live in, and some human brainstorming sessions, can easily make all things beautiful and green.

Working upon our success, we invite applications for our eco-project residency. get in touch with us for more details.
